Rainfall the Next 72 hours in the NE/Mid Atlantic

CURRENTFORECASTIMAGE1-9 (2)

As we mentioned in the Daily Weather Outlook there will be a cold front approaching the area and a low pressure is expected to develop Over Northern Indiana. This cold front will bring rain into the North and western part of the map and for the most part SE sections (i-95 south and east) will either see very light rain for today or remain mostly dry…

However…we will continue to have a southwest flow as a mid level ridge builds into the region. So this means temperatures will still be on the mild side.

The first cold front passes off the east coast on Tuesday morning/early afternoon ..however..it is the second cold front and a low pressure area that will be developing over the South Central US that will be moving across the region. This low pressure by Wednesday morning will be located near Eastern KY with another low pressure center to the SW over NE Mississippi. Then by Wednesday evening this low pressure area should be located pretty much near the SNJ coast.

This cold front and low pressure area will be what brings the majority of the rainfall you see on the map into the Eastern sections of the map.

The rain may be heavy at times during the day on Wednesday. At this point and time it seems like a general 1-2 inches of rain along the east coast ..
