December 15th Weather Discussion

Roller Coaster Ride Continues

Thats the best way to describe the weather pattern right now with being under the influence of a -EPO..-PNA and +NAO. Yesterday was a transition day..while it was warmer then the day before...just picture that as the climb up the hill of your favorite roller coaster and today you are now at the top of that roller coaster awaiting the next plunge thats coming because you know once you are at the top (when its almost winter)..theres no option but down there after.

So that means today is going to be warm. Another unseasonably mild day in this over all cold month. Todays temperatures across Northern New England will range in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Going down along the southern New England coast temperatures will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s. From there interior regions should be in the lower to middle 50s. Further south into PA and NJ...Mid to upper 50s and lower 60s into the Philadelphia region and southern NJ. The cooler spot today looks to be the NW corner of PA where the upper 40s should be the temperature. South of the PA/MD border ..it will seem like spring...upper 60s to mid 70s. Yes that is going to feel like spring. However....with this day of warmth lets not forget the analogy of the roller coaster :)
Weather wise...Mostly cloudy skies will be the rule for the day with scattered showers. Ny late in the evening those scattered showers will become more steadier rains across the Western Areas stretching into the Northeast. This is due to an approaching Arctic cold front! Remember that plunge???
