Rains on The Way-April 25-28th

A long duration rain event is on the way beginning late on Saturday. A warm front is going to move thru the region at the same time a low pressure from the ohio valley will be moving to the east.A weak area of low pressure should develop along the warm front off the Atlantic coast and this will be responsible for some rain beginning on Saturday.

By sunday late in the day or early evening another low pressure should form along the triple point of the front and this will continue the chance of rain across the region. The low pressure over Ohio will eventually move eastwards as well and bring some additional showers to the region on wednesday.

At this point we do not feel that there will be any real flooding concerns because the rainfall will be falling over a good duration of time. Approximately 48 hrs of rainfall is possible before all is said and done.

Current thinking is 1-2 inches of rain with some isolated 3 inch amounts. Its still not clear whether there will be any thunderstorms (severe) but if they were to occur the areas that receive them would receive enhanced rainfall totals. Will have a clearer picture on that by friday evening/early saturday.
