Tropical Depression # 17 (Subtropical)

As we have been discussing in the previous updates that the development oft this system would be on the slow side and that has indeed been the case. However..with the pressure now down to 1001 MBS and 30 KT we here at Real Weather Services are officially declaring this a sub tropical depression. .

Never the less we think that the National Hurricane Center could lean towards the tropical side of the spectrum, however we will go with subtropical due to the ULL!

Shear is around 5-10 knots with some weak convergence and divergence presently but the vorticity has tightened up.

There seems enough convection to consider this now as Sub tropical depression # 17.

We continue to stress that development of this system will be slow to occur due to the involvement with the ULL and that this will have no effect on the east coast…

Models essentially keep this out at sea and moving towards the NE and away from the east coast.

Next update will be 24 hours from now unless conditions warrant sooner!
