Something needs to be clarified!

Real Wx Services realizes that none of their team members have a professional met tag attached to their name. However, just because one does not have a professional tag in front of their name does not mean that the team members do not have knowledge about the weather!

I been forecasting the weather as a hobby for 23 + years and have sat back and watched and studied some of the best in the weather forecasting business..

I took meteorology in high school under the leadership of Mrs Orr at Lehigh Christian Academy! Though i have had an interest since i was five in the weather..she was the one that instilled the passion and desire into me and if i would have listened to her-I would have that professional tag in front of my name cause i would have went from high school straight to college for Meteorology. However, not liking school, except for MET class= i brushed it to the side and became sidetracked from following her words of wisdom. If she was alive today she would be happy to see the progress made without any follow up institutional degree.

All the pro tag means is that one went to college and earned a degree and if they are lucky enough they ended up getting a paid position as a weather forecaster. It does not mean that they are more correct or accurate in their assessments of the weather. It does not mean that they are more knowledgeable because any person that has a passion for the weather can learn and study the very exact things that are taught in college courses and gain that same knowledge on their own. One does not need a professional tag in front of their name to forecast the weather! What one needs is the desire and the passion to learn & succeed & move forward.

Its a goal of Real Wx Services to provide information based on current conditions and real weather in real time. For example..if there is a baraclonic low pressure area, which is a non tropical low…and the shear is marginally high and dry air is feeding into the system ..and its attached to a stationary front..then the chances for that system to develop into a tropical system with those current conditions in place would be 0%. Now, if it were to lose those characteristics described above 24 hours later..then the situation would be reanalyzed and a different percentage would apply. This is real time weather forecasting in REAL time. Not based on if this happens or that happens because what happens when the IF never occurs? You raise the chances based on the IF to only end up having to lower them when the IF fails to materialize. You give a false perception to the public readers.

I just felt that this had to be discussed because one particular person felt that just because I do not work for NHC that i should not be suggesting something has a less percent chance of developing then what they say! Yet , as we can see NHC went from less then 10% yesterday morning on 95 L to 20% (late morning) only to have to lower it back down to 10 % (this morning) and yet the environment this whole time period NEVER changed or supported the increase! False perception.

Real Wx Services does not forecast using false perceptions but forecasts using real time weather!
