Pattern Update as of 8-13-09

From looking at the latest guidance it would appear that the negative EPO will return in about 7-8 days..First the 8-10 day means...
As you can see both the ECM and the GFS are bringing the trough back over the east coast...Here is the EPO itself..
You can see that it is positive now and expected by the ensembles to go negative in about 7 days..Meanwhile, the NAO stays neutral..
And the PNA..Is neutral and is expected to stay neutral. So essentially this tells me that the trough will return to the east coast about 7-8 days out but I am not expecting this trough to be very deep..Rather more flattened in nature..this due to the NAO being neutral and the PNA staying around neutral...Essentially, i still see above normal temps for the most part over the next seven days and then returning to more seasonal temperatures in the 8 day + period.. So in a sense the pattern will return..and I believe that the rest of the summer will rotate between seasonal to above seasonal temperatures. Seasonal when the -EPO takes a grip and above normal when it relaxes.
