August 15th Severe Weather Potential

815

Slight risk across the western Portions of PA/NY into Ohio and WV and KY..

Trigger is an advancing cold front along with a upper level trough..

CAPE 500-3500 highest over ohio area…

Lift Index anywhere from minus 2 to minus 7, depending on ones location.

Bulk shear looks to be around 30 knots..

Lapse rates look relatively weak however…

The best chance for severe weather looks to be across ohio into western PA and West central pa. Clouds associated with the convection that is currently moving thru western pa will probably prohibit severe weather from central PA but will put them in a low risk zone in case any storms area able to survive despite the cloud debris.

Temperatures will only be in the low to mid 80s but there will be an increase in humidity with the dewpoints being in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Any storms that form will contain very heavy rain, damaging winds…
