Inverted Trough Update!

The above images are the NMM, AWR, and Suny MM5. These are short term high resolution mesoscale models. We are dealing with a low pressure that will be well off the east coast but at the same time an inverted trough will be set up across the region.

Inverted troughs and where the heaviest snow bands set up are sometimes extremely difficult to tell until they actually set up . So the map above has a high bust potential. Some areas could be lower and some areas could be higher, Ultimate outcome will depend on where it sets up. They also have the tendency to over perform.

Interestingly enough the surface pressure chart above could be giving an indication that a secondary would be trying to form around the Delmarva. This is something we will keep an eye on thru the afternoon into the evening!

For now mainly expecting a light to moderate event…however..where ever that band sets up we could have higher amounts then shown. Sometimes these bands stall or move slow so another thought to keep in the back of the mind.

Time frame looks to be early morning friday into friday night…
