January 20-22nd Level 3 Alert For A Moderate Event

Low pressure will be over South Central Tx by 12 Z this morning . Over running will be spreading to the NE of the area of low pressure and another low pressure will then form early in the afternoon over eastern KY. From this location the area of low pressure will start to move ENE and will end up close to the PA/MD border ..but probably just south of there around the MD/VA border. Something we will have to watch..this would be by friday 6 Z. From there the low pressure will continue to move off to the NE. By friday morning it will be south Of long Island at or about 50 miles off the coast.

For the track of the storm we are actually using the ECM/Nogaps blend as the ECM has once again come in with a solution that is almost to the exact track as what the Nogaps has been showing. Surprise surprise :)

For QPF we are using a blend of all the models..primarily the GGEM/ECM/GFS/NAM/NOGAPS…

Level 3 ALert will be issued whenever there is either a significant snow storm or a moderate snowstorm expected to happen within the next 24 hrs.

Roads will become snow covered and slippery. Majority of this snowfall will be falling at night time so it will have no problem with sticking to the roads. Stay tuned for any further information on this developing winter storm!
