IGOR starting to have that sheared look to it..

20100917.0515.msg-2.ir.11L.IGOR.110kts.940mb.21.9N.58.2W.100pc

Make no doubt about it-IGOR is a large and powerful hurricane but it appears as though it could be starting to weaken as well a little bit further. Its appearance is starting to give off a more ragged sheared look with perhaps some dry air entrainment on the eastern side of the system.

Also appears for a while that IGOR was moving a little to the West or even WSW.

You can kind of see the movement in the Infrared loop above.

AOI1_wv_loop

The above loop which is the water vapor loop shows the eye feature starting to become cloud covered and less distinct which is another reason to believe that its weakening and perhaps going thru another ERC..

The wider view really shows the difference between IGOR and JULIA. Many people been asking about what will happen as JULIA gets closer to IGOR. I believe the simplest answer to this would be being that IGOR is larger and stronger it would just simply cause JULIA to get sheared from his outflow and would simply absorb JULIA.

IR shot above with the current shear shows how large the system is but also shows that the shear is anywhere from 10 knots around the center but then much higher across the rest of the system and I think this is the reason that he is starting to take on the appearance that he is..That sheared out weakening appearance..

Latest models still tend to have Bermuda in there target zone

I can not really argue with what the models are showing and basically agree with them with a track going near or even over Bermuda.

Regardless of over or near ..Bermuda will be feeling Hurricane conditions and Tropical storm conditions and is the reason why we keep them under a Hurricane Watch..If conditions warrant the watch will turn to a warning.

Stay tuned!
