Some Clarification Is Needed !

Some clarification is needed from what was said earlier in the Hurricane Season.. This quote can actually be found on this blog.

Over the past 12 years the Southern Hemisphere ACE has correlated quite well to the following Northern Hemisphere ACE & hurricane season. The latest season of the SH ended up with a near normal ACE. This would argue for a near normal NH hurricane season.

Now, as one can tell this talks about a correlation over the past 12 years between the Southern Hemispheric ACE & the Northern Hemispheric ACE and how the correlation would argue for a near normal NH Hurricane Season..which in the context of the quote would be referencing NH Hurricane Seasonal ACE.

So where do we stand in regards to this right now?

September 10: Northern Hemisphere ACE 45% below normal. Western North Pacific 82% below normal. Eastern Pacific 45% below normal. North Atlantic 32% above normal.

 

As of September 10th the Northern Hemispheric ACE is 45 % below normal. So as one can tell ..the correlation thus far is holding up rather well.

Yes, the Atlantic ACE is 32 % above normal but the correlation did not apply to the Atlantic ACE but rather the Northern Hemisphere ACE. People to this day are still getting this confused.

They think that the correlation applies to the Atlantic ACE and this is absolutely not true ..and while the ATLANTIC ACE is above normal it is not anywhere near where some professional agencies thought it would be. Though the thinking on this end was that the Atlantic ACE would be around the normal means..that clearly is not the case being IGOR and JULIA both became MAJOR Hurricanes. However..none of the above discussing the ATLANTIC ACE nullifies the Northern Hemisphere ACE and Southern Hemisphere ACE as that correlation is still intact & holding up.

Some clarification needed to be made in reference to this as too many people are still getting this confused
