The Weakening Called For Has Occurred!

The last update that I had given I had mentioned that Earl was starting to weaken and should weaken overnight. That indeed was the case as the pressure went from 930 all the way up to 943 mbs as of 2 PM today. Winds also have dropped from 145 mph down to 125 MPH..

Remember NHC mentioned that it should maintain status for 12 hrs in there 5 AM update and we mentioned here that it would be lucky to maintain status over the next 6 hrs. So once again..we remain one step ahead of the National Hurricane Center.

Hurricane Earl is now basically moving north along 75 W. This turn to the north pretty much was highlighted around 5 AM here at R.W.S and strongly felt that this would cross 30 N before 75 W and that was indeed the case.

Earl is having a rather ragged appearance this afternoon and this can be attributed to its weakening. Generally this system is slowly on a down hill trend as it continues to move N and then NE .

Divergence and convergence continue to be good with this system and has never really been a problem, Shear is around 10-50 knots off the SE Coast

Still feel quite comfortable with the track that was issued back on the 30th and see no reason to move from this thinking.
