Tropical Storm Igor Was Born Early This Morning

Currently the center of circulation is on the eastern side of the convection and convection is generally west based. The system is surrounded by shear and strong shear at that to both the north and the south..

This system went from a open wave of low pressure directly to a Tropical Storm as far as the National Hurricane Center was concerned so hence IGOR was born at 11 AM.

Currently the water vapor image above shows that there is alot of dry air that is off to the west of the system.

Majority of the models have this heading off in a west to northwest direction.

At this point and time it is way to early to think of any kind of effect this has on the east coast of the USA. The reason i say this is because i see questions and talk about this effecting the east coast already.. This system has a long way to go before the East coast even comes into play.

I will say at this point and time that a recurve seems to be most likely but with it so far out in time..

The images above are actually older now cause i had to leave the computer for a little bit. So now we are looking at ..as of 18 Z

20-30 knots of shear across the system, Been upgraded to 45 MPH while gone but no drop in the pressure as it remained at 1005 mbs which really indicates this is still developing on the slow side.

No change in the thoughts above but will continue to update this thru the night and until about 4 PM tomorrow then resume after 1 AM..
